Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That’s because they were able to connect experiences they’ve had and synthesize new things.

bOOSTWAVE

Boostwave is a power-pacifist cyber-punk blastcore band based in the New York and Los Angeles area. Boostwave, which refers more to an aesthetic or musical attitude as opposed to a set of concrete techniques, inherits the rich tradition of aprés-gardes proto-punk, whose syncretization with corporate-bebop and business-hop signaled the advent of a hybrid genre that orients itself towards acoustic saturationism and post-gestural neo-classicism. Personnel has remained inconsistent over the years, as the constituent personages of the project are constantly shifting like Dwarven clockwork, a feature that has led both mainstream as well as under-the-radar publications to label the act a meta-collective. Still, as a presenting organization, Boostwave seeks to erect robust socio-musical structures that unite performativity with raw spectrality, in an attempt to channel the ethos associated with the period of time between the destruction of one universe and the creation of the next.
